format_markdown(value, col_index=0, **kwargs)

Format IPython Markdown objects to LaTeX text.

Converts a small subset of inline Markdown (bold, italic, inline code, Pandoc-style inline footnotes) to the corresponding LaTeX command via markdown_to_latex(), and wraps the result in . Column wrapping (e.g., prefix) is handled by wrap_column().

Markdown constructs with no sensible meaning inside (headings, links, lists, …) are not interpreted – avoid using them here.
